Autism Advocacy Update Feb. 18, 2011

February 18th, 2011

Bad news! The AALC has learned that Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota will no longer issue individual health insurance policies that include coverage for intensive early intervention behavior therapy. Legislative Update February 11, 2011

February 11th, 2011

This is an important week at the Capitol. Next week, Governor Dayton will release his two-year budget for the FY12-13 biennium. The AALC has met with the Governor’s Office and contacted the Department of Human Services to advocate for the inclusion of language that requires health insurance plans to provide medically necessary care for children with autism into the Governor’s Budget. We can’t do it without you, though! If you have not contacted the Governor’s Office yet now is the time to do so. Please call the Governor’s Office at (651) 201-3400 to tell Governor Dayton that children with autism need affordable access to medically necessary care.
