Amy,

Thank you so much for all the hard work you've been doing for our kids & families. Even if the battle isn't won this year, your efforts have gone a long way to giving us hope that we're getting closer to ending insurance discrimination against kids with autism. We all appreciate you very much!

Thanks for your kind words. I do believe that all of our kids will benefit. My own son is currently not enrolled in an insurance plan that would have to comply with the Autism Healthcare Protection Act.

I admire what you have done here. I like the part where you say you are doing this to give back but I would assume by all the replies that this is working for you as well.

Amy, Great work once again! Thanks for what you are doing for all families affected with autism at the capitol! And thank you for your mentoring to help me on my first day talking with legislators! After I went home yesterday I was not satisfied with how I left my last conversation with Rep. Tara Mack. So, I took your input and emailed her after I got home around 3:45 pm saying to her,"If you truly would like to help individuals and families living with Autism and you cannot in principle vote yes for the entire HHS Bill as it is written, would you please call for a motion to have the Autism HC Protection Act pulled out of the bill and ask that it be voted on (by a voice vote) separately as a stand alone bill?
Amy, how can I find out SPECIFICALLY what actions Rep. Mack took yesterday other than how she voted? It will be good information to know when I visit with her in the future and as I go to the voting booth again. Thanks for your help! Beth Larson

Amy,

Thank you so much for coming to Walker tonight. Your presentation was very helpful to parents and professionals. As a soon to be retired special education teacher, I see such a huge need for services for our kids who leave the school setting and head into vocational/adult world. They need continued intentional instruction as well as community based employment opportunities. Out of home living options for young adults on the spectrum is non existence up here. We have work to do.

It was a pleasure to meet you. Again, thanks for sharing your expertise w/ us in northern MN.
